    — A Newfane woman is facing up to two years behind bars after she allegedly drove carelessly and attempted to elude an officer.

Brattleboro Police Lt. Robert Kirkpatrick wrote that on Jan. 5, when he was operating stationary radar from his police cruiser along Linden Street, a white Chrysler minivan was clocked at 65 mph in a 25 mph zone.

Kirkpatrick stated that he immediately attempted to catch up to the vehicle with his emergency lights and siren on.

He wrote in the affidavit that the vehicle, driven by Kathleen M. Sullivan, drove into and parked in the lot of the Methadone Clinic.

Sullivan told Kirkpatrick that she didn’t know he was trying to stop her and that she had to get to the clinic before it closed.

“You don’t know what it’s like to not get your medication,” she said.
